Courtland, Ontario
In Southern Ontario, partway between Delhi and Tillsonburg... right along Highway 3 lies the small village of Courtland. Small, but mighty, this community is packed full of day tripping goodness.
And I finally found real pie!
A simple brick building in a simple rural community.
The austere exterior hides the delights within.
Tons of Pie!
Something for every palate!
Oh Heaven! Oh Bliss!
Then we thought, Oh! It's lunchtime and we should show some sense!
So we picked Beef pies!
What an amazing choice!
Handmade right on the premises with flaky, to die for pastry!
Every bite was a dream with mouth watering goodness.
If you're ever driving down #3 Hwy, stop in and treat yourself!
Tomorrow... What else was inside!

Perhaps tomorrow... dessert?!
My mom had terrible allergies and could only eat lemon meringue...brings back good memories!

Lemon Meringue Pie is one of my favourite things ever anywhere, especially my mother's. Just seeing one makes my brain stop functioning normally and my saliva glands work overtime. If you ever see someone slack-jawed and drooling outside a pie shop, chances are that's me!
Oh my, now you have my mouth watering and there is not a pie in sight. I am going to have to do something about that one soon. We are blessed with a bakery near where I work that has good pies and they also make a wonderful chicken pot pie. I think I may have to head that way tomorrow.
yumm the beef pies look so good.. Yet I have to say I would have picked the Lemon unless of course they had a coconut cream that looked as good... I myself am making mini blueberries tonight for Vincent and I
Small town bakeries are the best. That beef pie looks like a smart and delicious choice!
