About 30 miles from our house is a small town called Springfield. Yes, there's a hundred Springfield's and almost every state and province has one, don't they?
Ah yes.... the Pillar and Post!
No! Not the famous one in Niagara on the Lake where the Clinton's have stayed and eaten, but a little infamous one in an old building where all the locals go. You know, one of those places that serves dynamite food?
Here's what the outside looks like:
Brick that's been painted. Nice purple awning though?
Walk inside and oh!
Nice restored wood details and floors.
Just a nice, family style place.
Daily specials. Full meals, breakfast lunch and dinner.
We quite often go over for breakfast because they make killer eggs Benny!
This particular Sunday, we met several friends. Of course Mickey Mouse pancakes are a must!
Everybody though I was nuts because I of course ordered pie!
Bumbleberry!
For those who don't have Bumbleberry, it is a mixture of all berries like raspberry and blackberry and strawberry. (I think it's kind of what ever you have at the time of baking?)
Had a tartness to it because this one had rhubarb in it too!
Nice flaky pastry! A hand fluted edge too!
Do you want the first bite?
Ah! Ode to Pie?
Crusty, Flaky Fruity, I love you all.
May you dwell in Lucy's mouth forever!

What a treat to find such a nice place. The pie crust does look flakey and it sounds so good too. Years ago a friend and I went out shopping and found a little place similar to that and had pie for breakfast too! We had pecan pie and I can still remember how good it was! Have a great Monday!
a woman after my own heart... give me pie any day over cake....
That place looks like one I'd love to hang out in. And your pictures just make anybody want to share that pie with you. I wonder how many Springfields there actually are out there. This one is a keeper.
Now THAT I SNOT FAIR!!! Joy @ Granny Mountain is offering cinnamon rolls, you offering pie ... doggone it! The juices are really flowing now!
Have a beautiful week!

Yum! That lady holding the coffee pot in that third picture sold me...she looks like she can make a mean pie!
Now aren't ya just the big tease! Now ya got this farm chick hankerin' for a big juicy bite of pie!
God bless and have a glorious day!!!
I love it. Backroads. Small town cafes. and a really dirty pickup. That's the good life!
What a great place...love the purple awning! Pie sounds REALLY good right now : )
That place definitely looks a bit dodgy from the outside! Looks great inside! And rhubarb! I love rhubarb!
Fruit pies are my favorite kind of pies. That one looks sooooo good.
You're killing me! I'm trying to diet and you are posting about pies! LOL. Thanks for the comments on my celebrity apology post honey. I agree with you, Tiger is no one special. Kori xoxo
Yum, it all looks great to me. I am on my way. Wait! Yikees, I don't know where I am going.
Springfield is that any where near Arlen?
This place looks nice, inviting, and spotlessly clean. I, too, want a slice of that bumbleberry pie with hot coffee.
