Cattle in a Field

How my Daddy loved Herefords!

We had about 15 acres of pasture on our farm just so Dad could keep a few cattle in the summer. He always just thought they looked so nice on the farm!
(I know, eccentric, but we had a business that fed us!)

The day my sister and I were out toot-elling around, we spied this pasture with this nice small herd.

Nice blue sky and a contented heard.
You can tell because they aren't eating so they must be getting lots of grain and hay!

This rich rusty red brown is the characteristic hereford color and the white markings are so crisp.
They're curly furred faces are so sweet!

I think, even with their scraggy coats, that they are beautiful!

All of these photos were again shot and loaded directly from my Nikon P90 and then posted without alteration of any kind.

Is it a bad thing that I look at these photos and see T-bone steaks, rib roasts, and burgers? Maybe I should go eat some breakfast!

Cows are cute...they have such soulful eyes. That's probably why I don't eat beef : )

I love the look of cows, but don't love their dispositons.

There is nothing more beautiful than a field of cows (or horses, sheep, or pigs, etc.) dotting the countryside on a snow covered field .... as long as they don't get close to me (chuckle!) You truly captured them beautifully!

Have a great eve ...

Oh Eva!!!
Don't cows just make the greates models? They stare right into the camera and stand perfectly still for as long as you need; really we should pay them!

There is something about a pasture with contented cows. It puts in the minds eye a more contented less artificial time. I like it.

Don't see many Herefords around here anymore. Mostly Angus and Angus mix. The Herefords seem to be a stockier breed to me. I would think that they would produce more meat. X.
