Trail's End Farmer's Market: The Food!

Oooh! The food at the market!

Not just produce and t-shirts, but everyday cuts of meat as well as exotic. Every fruit and veggie you can think of. The ones I'd call 'ethnic' but would be everyday to Vietnamese or Portuguese people. We have them all as friends and neighbors.

Come... Ride along on my shoulder as we look into the cases and gaze upon the bountiful displays.

This woman is Mennonite from Mexico. They started travelling up here for summers to pick produce and found it so great here, many started to stay. We have huge communities now that include their own churches, (their home language isn't Spanish, but what's called 'low German') and they are wonderful folks!

Potato farms abound in Ontario!

We also have acres and acres of greenhouses that grow tomatoes and cucumbers all year!

Hmmm... We don't grow pomegranates though so these must be imported.

I'm not sure where these beens would come from this time of year. I should have asked!

As well, the peppers!

We live in a land of plenty for sure! Enjoy!
