Driving home home from work I passed this clump of pine trees.
I can't imagine a winter world with no evergreens in it.
They make everything seem warmer somehow!

Not only do they make winter seem like winter - they decorate the landscape when all other trees are barren bringing with them the promise of spring and new beginnings...
